Entry into Bhutan is by Drunk Air from Bangkok/Delhi/Kathmandu/Calcutta and Dhaka by the KB Flight. Aircraft used is the Bae 146. If you wish to travel overland, you can also reach Bhutan from its southern gateway, the city of Phuntsholing, about six hours drive from the capital, Thimphu. The nearest airport is in the Indian City of Bagdogra in the state of West Bengal.
As far in advance as possible, book the tour with dates of entry and exit from Bhutan. This is mainly to ensure seats on Druk Air which has a seating capacity of 72. Druk Air has two time tables Winter and Summer. The difference between the winter and summer schedule is normally in timings. The days of operation remain the same.
Four weeks prior to arrival of the Tour to Bhutan, please send in the visa application of each client by fax along with a photo. If you do not have the visa form send in the passport particulars by fax. Name, passport Number, Date of issue, Validity, Occupation, Nationality, Date of Birth and Home Address.

We will in Bhutan, apply for the Bhutan visa and send you a visa reference number (which also is automatically informed to all Druk Air Stations). Without the visa reference number you may be denied boarding Druk Air. Visa is then granted on arrival at Paro Airport. Visa fee is US $ 20 per person but subject to revision by Govt.
All Druk Air space is controlled by Headquarters in Thimphu. Reservations on Druk Air are routed through us. If you have a group size of 4 and above, we purchase the tickets on credit and sent them to the outstation office. You can either pick up the tickets from the city office if you have the time or it can be delivered to you at the Airport.
Visitors must be informed that Bhutan is a remote, unique country, just emerging from isolation. There are no luxuries available. Accommodation outside Thimphu and paro is simple. Tourism is a very new concept - they should not hand out sweets, pens, gifts to the children. For visits to temples and monuments they should dress decently in keeping with the culture and tradition of the people.
