After breakfast at the lodge,
continue your journey to the Serengeti, visiting the Olduvai Gorge en route.

Serengeti. All meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 6 Lake Manyara
After breakfast at the lodge, drive
to the Lake Manyara National Park, arriving for lunch, followed by afternoon

After breakfast at the lodge,
continue to the Tarangire National Park, arriving for lunch. Afternoon game
viewing drive in the park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9 Selous
After breakfast at the camp, return
to Arusha and transfer to the Arusha Municipal Airport for Coastal Air
flight to Selous Game Reserve, where on arrival you will be met and
transferred to the camp for overnight.

Day 12 Zanzibar
Breakfast at the camp. Morning game
activities. Transfer to the airstrip for Coastal Air flight to Zanzibar,
where on arrival you will be met and transferred to the Zanzibar Serena Inn

Full day at leisure to explore the
Stone Town. Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to
the airport for departure flight.
Transfer to Machame Gate, walking
through the forest up to Machame Hut at 10000 ft / 3000 m. Stay overnight.
Day 2 Shira Hut
Crossing the little valley and
continue the steep ridge going on to rock ridges through heather until the
end, and the route turns west into a river gorge reaching Shira Hut at 12500
ft / 3,800 m. Stay overnight.
Day 3 Barranco Hut
Continue walking towards east, up
to the junction, turn south to the glacier streams where Barranco Hut is
situated at 13,000 ft / 3,900 m. Stay overnight.
Day 4 Barafu Hut
From here you walk down up to the
junction where you ascend up to the uniport Hut Barafu Hut at 15,000 ft
/ 4,600 m. Stay overnight.
Day 5 Mweka Hut
Early start for the summit
Uhuru Peak the highest point in Africa at 19,340 ft / 5,896 m. From here
you descend to Gilman Point at 18,640 m down to Mweka Hut. Stay overnight.
Day 6 Arusha
Descend to Mweka Gate where the
waiting car will drive you back to Arusha.
This day take a bird walk on the
Masai plains from the town of Longido to the bomas of Ol Tepesi. The Masai
guides help to spot many colourful birds and show you the trees and plants
that they use for making food and medicines. At Ol Tepesi which is the Masai
word for Acacia tree. The guides will invite you into a Masai boma and show
their traditional way of life. This tourism programme Sponsors the cattle
dip. You will also get a warm welcome. Back in Longido you will visit Mzee
Mollel a local Maasai who studied sociology abroad and can explain to you
everything you always wanted to know about culture. Then enjoy a meal cooked
by the Bawata Womens Group. Overnight at the Campsite.
Day 3
Spend the day walking from Ol
Tepesi to Kimonkouwa along narrow Maasai cattle trails that winds over the
slopes of Longido Mountains of 1200 metres to a peak of 1600 metres. On
clear days first have beautiful views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, and
once you have arrived at the north side of the mountain you can look out
over the Maasai plains deep into Kenya. The final hour you descend to
Kimokouwa, where Maasai bomas are scattered peacefully in the green valley
of wells. Nearby you can visit a historical Germany and camp on a lawn near
a Maasai boma.
Day 4
Leave Kimokouwa early in the
morning for a more strenuous and adventurous tour a second day climb takes
you to the top of the steep Longido Mountain. Guided by Maasai warriors.
Follow the narrow footpaths through a dense natural forest after two hours
you arrive at the marvelous dawa ya supu (soup medicine) viewpoint
from here follow trails created by buffaloes to reach the top in another two
hours climb.With loud cries
the Maasai warn the buffaloes that people are coming and so avoid dangerous
encounters. The views from the top are simply stunning. On clear days you
can see for more than 200 kilometres including all the mountain of Northern
Tanzania. The descend of this mountain is another challenge. After three
hours walk you can reach Longido town and enjoy a meal cooked by the Bawata
Womens Group. In the evening you can talk to Esto Mollel and other Maasai
elders about the unique experience of the past days. Overnight in a
campsite.
Day 5 Return to Arusha.
Lunch at Mount Meru. Afternoon
depart to Nairobi by Shuttle Bus or continue with another program.
Day 1
Arrive Arusha. Dinner and overnight Mount Meru Hotel.
Day 2
Leave Arusha arriving at Katesh mid afternoon. Late lunch and
exploration of village including local Bee-keeping Project. Dinner and
overnight at local hotel / camp.
Day 3
After breakfast walk to the Barbaig village of Dirma about 16 km. The
Barbaig people are nomadic but they becoming increasingly marginalized as
agriculture and settlement encroaches on their traditional grazing lands.
Here you can find our yourself how these pressures are affecting their
traditional way of life. Overnight in a local home/camp.
Day 4
After breakfast more Barbaig homes for Cultural Insights before
returning to Katesh for dinner and overnight at Camp.
Day 5
After breakfast walk around the lower slopes of Mt Hanang to Gendabi
village. Lunch at GendabiPrimary
School. Preparation for tomorrows ascent of Mt Hanang and evening visit
to a huge roost of eagles and vultures as they fly from their days
hunting. Total of about 15 km easy walking with dinner and overnight at
Nyaturu tribal home. Camp.
Day 6
Early start for ascent of Tanzanias fourth highest mountain. With
guides and porters we climb through farmland, forest, protea scrub and out
onto high grasslands and a ridge walk to the summit of Mt Hanang at 3,418 m.
An easy climb but a long day-taking about 5 6 hours to the summit and
another 3 4 hours down again. Summiteers will receive a certificate.
Anyone not wanting to climb the mountain can explore the nearby soda lake
Balangida.
Day 7
Breakfast and leisurely walk through farms and wheat fields to return to
Katesh. Dinner and overnight in a selected hotel / camp.
Day 8
Early depart for Arusha. Lunch at Mount Meru Hotel. Afternoon depart by
Shuttle Bus to Nairobi.
Day 1
Arrive Arusha. Transfer to Momella Lodge, with game drive en route.
Dinner and overnight at Momella Wildlife Lodge.
Day 2
Morning transfer to the gate. Start the climb to Miriakamba Hut.
Overnight.
Day 3
This day the climb goes on steeply through mountain forest to Saddle
Hut.
Day 4
At 0130 0200 a.m. climb to Rhino Point and on to attempt the Peak at
4565 m. Descend to the gate and on to Momella Wildlife Lodge for overnight.
Day 5
End of Trekking, catch a shuttle bus to Nairobi or continue with another
program.

remaining few hundred people that form this tribe practice neither
agriculture nor own cattle. There is the simplest form of society, based on
hunting and gathering fruits for food.
