A CRY FROM NEPAL

"WE ALL NEED YOU"

Unexpectedly, not even thinkable to happen in a nightmare, the profound tragedy of the unprecedented shootout of the Royal Family on the first day of June that struck Nepal has shocked, dazed and saddened every Nepali -and, us, around the world. The whole Nation was left bereft of the One, -King Birendra, the people knew had nothing but welfare in his heart and reknown as for devoting His whole life for the wellbeing of his citizens. As per local demonstrations, this King was a beloved One.

Events: The Nation was paralized for almost two weeks. Within a spontaneous outpourings of grief, the day that the King and the Queen were cremated, silence in the City of Kathmandu was so dramatic that it could be thought such religious ceremony was performed in an emptied city. From that day-today, a mourning period was officialy declared to last 10 days; curfew was imposed twice in Kathmandu and Laltipur (Patan) as people, discontrolled, caused social unrest for a certain time. As consequence, those cities also suffered great economic losses.

Last Thursday, June 14th, when a two-member-team of the High Level Commission of Nepal made public its Report about the death of the Royal Family, another outburst was expected. But, contrary, just minor demonstrations araised and, since then, (I have just contacted Nepal to make it sure), the situation that has prevailed in Kathmandu and Patan as well as in all the country incovered, is of true calm and only the weep of the town is now there as a remembrance of a beloved Family that will never return. Such memories, -I am sure, will perdure forever in their hearts; but, in the face of such unpardonable perpetuated action, there is no alternative for them but that one of fortitude.

Rabindra Rayamajhi of INSPIRATION Tours & Travel and INSPIRATION Treks & Expedition in Kathmandu, -my partner, and, myself, were planning, not so many days ago, to prepare for you a full Report on the events. But lately, we have thought that such document would be useless as details about the massacre and happenings have been internationally newscasted.

Meanwhile, receptive tour operators and all lending institutions in the touristical area were specially affected as cancellations for visitors to arrive in the time of the event, took place, as well as for the ones in the lapse of arrivals of after short and immediate future. Now, hotels in Nepal are with occupations at bottom level and all people involved in the travel business, with empty hands.

THIS IS A TRUE CRY FROM THE HEART OF THE WORLD:
WE, IN NEPAL, NEED, IMMEDIATELY, YOUR BUSINESS BACK!. We thank you hardly for your prompt support.
