This six day tour takes you first to Darjeeling to witness the fabulous
sunrise over the Kanchenjunga range, take a joy ride on the fabled Toy
Train and visit a tea gardens growing the legendary Darjeeling tea.
Then on to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim with a visit to the Rumtek
Monastery on the way. This monastery is a magnificent example of Tibetan
Monastic art and was built by His Holiness, Gyalwa Karmapa, leader of the
Kagyu Sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is a close replica of the H.H. Karmapa's
monastery at Tsorphu in Tibet and houses some of the world's most unique
religious art objects. The last day of the tour is a relaxed stay at Gangtok,
the capital of Sikkim with a leisurely tour of the places of interest.
From Gangtok it's on to Kalimpong, a quite little town ideal for a
quiet retreat and famous for it's orchid nurseries.
