TREKKING

    One way to see Nepal in her true nature is by trekking. Many like to call this country a Mt. Amadablam trekkers' paradise. In fact the most popular adventurous activity in this mountain kingdom is no doubt, trekking. There are countless trails leading to various points of tourist interest. 

    Some trails are still virgin. Some very wild and way off from human civilization. The trekkers in Nepal are always rewarded with many unique sights such as majestic Himalayan peaks, colorful birds, lovely waterfalls, and above all, the absolute peace and pleasure even heavens would envy.

RAFTING

    Nepal is growing famous for rafting. Choices are many. From one to eighteen days, river trips can be arranged according to one's choice. Some of the popular rivers for rafting are the Sunkoshi, Trisuli and Arun. They are all equally exciting, but the Arun is the most challenging one for rafting. Other major rivers are Seti, Kali and Madi. All of them take you through great excitement and eventually reach you to lovely jungle resorts.

    From 1 to 3 day's river trips are ideal - they usually conclude a safari to Royal Chitwan National Park. Many enjoy their stay at the park. Some even seem to extend their stay and make themselves feel very close to nature.

JUNGLE SAFARI

    Nepal has many beautiful national parks providing shelter to a tremendous variety of wild animals. Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, rare one horned rhinos, sloth bears, wild boars, gaurs, spotted deer, long tailed monkeys, crocodiles, and so on. The best known park is the Royal Chitwan National Park that is about 155 km south west of Kathmandu. This park, situated in a steaming tropical jungle region covers an area of 976 sq. km. This particular park alone is said to host well over 50 different kinds of mammals, including several species of deer, sloth bears, and wild boars. It is also a most peaceful home to more that 400 species of birds making it one of the best bird watching places in the world. 

    In the Rapti river lurk many kinds of aquatic creatures including the fierce marsh muggers, the rare fish eating Gharial crocodiles, and fresh water dolphins. 

     
    Chitwan National Park

    The topographic variation here is quite unique. There are three basis varieties of vegetation in this park.. Under this category come the elephant grasslands, reverie and hardwood forest where the tall sal trees are most dominant. Besides this, there are also many inland lakes and hundreds of perennial spring waters and streams. 

    The Royal Chitwan National Park offers you a wide range of jungle adventures and activities such as elephant-back safari, dugout canoe excursions, nature walks, jungle jeep drives and ethnic cultural tours. The best time to enjoy the jungle safari is September through April.
